Material Fees and Books

Some LFCC Workforce Solution Classes may require the purchase of textbooks and/or materials. This is explained in the description of the class in the course catalog or is stated with the class information on the website.

Materials

Each instructor determines the amount of materials used in their class. In most cases, those materials such as handouts are included in the cost of the class; however, some skill/craft classes may require the purchase of consumable supplies.

Books

A number of technical classes use textbooks or reference materials as part of the instruction. The cost of these books may be included in the price of the class OR may require the purchase of the books prior to the first class. If the cost of the book is included in the class there will typically be no reference to the book. If a book is required to be purchased prior to the first class, it will be so stated and the Book Title, Author, and ISBN will be published. Also remember that many books become an invaluable resource as a future reference, particularly the technical and legal books.

Purchasing Books

You have two primary options for purchasing textbooks prior to your first class

School Bookstore

The LFCC Bookstore is independently operated by Follett who stocks books for both credit and non-credit classes. Bookstores are located at both the Middletown and Fauquier campuses. Their operating hours change depending on the time of the academic year. They often have extended hours during the day and evening at the beginning of the semester, but are traditionally closed on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the semester. The Fauquier store is also closed on Fridays. You can also access the bookstore via the Internet at www.efollett.com. Once you access the webpage enter the required information to find our bookstore. Select Textbooks and Course Materials, the campus, term, and division. Each class will be displayed along with the book information.

  • Follett Fauquier Bookstore 540-351-1532

Outside Bookstores and the Internet

You can also purchase books from outside bookstores as well as the Internet. It is important to always match the ISBN number of the required book to be certain you have the correct version. Having the most current version is particularly important in many of the technical and code classes.
