The LFCC Workforce Solutions teamWhat is Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education? We provide training to a diverse audience. Whether it's a worker looking to retrain for a new position or a computer novice looking to learn how to use her new computer, Workforce Solutions can be your "Partner in Success."

Today's work environment is changing and evolving. Those who adapt to these changes will find success and fulfillment. To achieve this success, you have a personal responsibility to continually hone your existing skills, acquire new skills, and look for opportunities to grow. Choice employers seek employees who possess the needed skills to adapt and grow with their business. The question then becomes, how can you acquire these skills? That's where the Office of Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education comes in. We offer classes in a variety of skill topics to help you grow professionally.

Additionally, we offer a variety to classes for personal interests including such topics as pottery, beginning motorcycle training, and parenting. In the summer months we offer youth enrichment classes specifically designed to bring youngsters into the college environment.

  • Workforce Solutions offers open enrollment and contract/customized classes:
    • Open Enrollment Classes are prescheduled and available to the general public throughout the year. These classes are featured in our catalog and on our website.
    • Contract/customized Classes bring our classes and instructors to your businesses and industries to provide focused training opportunities for employees either at your site or at the college.
  • Our courses are non-credit and delivered in burst format compared to credit that require the student to attend classes for a predetermined length of time, generally 16 weeks..
    • Non credit – Our classes provide short-term focused training in specific skill areas and are not restricted to traditional semester starts/finishes. Classes start every month, and in some cases, even more frequently. Our classes are focused on specific results and not degrees.
    • Burst Training – Our classes can be as short as a few hours or last for several weeks depending on the complexity of the subject matter and class goals.
  • Class topics vary from leadership to trade skills including many of the new and upcoming professions in healthcare, education, and building trades.
